OUR COMPANY:

Innova Dance company is a professional salsa company, based out of New York City. It draws its creative foundation from Mambo, Afro-Cuban, Latin Folklore, Jazz, and Modern dance. Each choreography reflects our two fundamental beliefs: that dance should perfectly complement music and that it should always be sincere, from the dancer's heart. Founder and director Manny Davis strives to enable his dancers to express their full potential on stage and bring to the audience memorable, rich in detail and full of emotion non-traditional latin dance.

Innova Dance Company SEMI PRO TEAM: Members of the semi-pro team have the opportunity to enhance their speed, musicality, technique and body movement as well as gain performance experience.

Innova Dance Company STUDENT TEAM: Members of our student team focus on strengthening their dance foundation (spinning technique, foot work, maintaining balance and control over body movement) and building up musicality and stage presence.

Manny Davis BIO

Manny Davis first started dancing at the early age of 4 with the national ballet academy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and “Palacio de Bellas Artes“ where he learned Latin-American folkloric dance. As a teenager, Manny dedicated much of his time to martial arts, he owes much of his tremendous body control and coordination in dancing to these hours spent mastering martial arts.

Manny's passion for dance got reignited in his early twenties. He briefly trained with Hacha y Machete Dance Company in Boston and then joined the dance troupe of Afro-Cuban Master Pupy Insua in New York. After leaving to find his own companies – Obatala Dance Company and currently Innova Dance Company - Manny has performed, solo and with his companies, at several international salsa congresses and venues nationally, including Broadway.

Manny's style is a fusion of Afro-Cuban, modern and salsa dance. His choreographies emphasize body control, precise and rhythmical movement and above all creativity.

Sandra Guzek BIO

Sandra Guzek started dancing hip hop and jazz as a teenager in Warsaw. Soon after, she was invited to join F’N’F, one of the most prominent hip hop companies in Poland; for the next 3 years Sandra trained and toured with them. In 2010 she moved to Paris to find a new inspiration - salsa. With years of professional dance training as her foundation, she rapidly grew as a salsa dancer. She was spotted and asked to perform at various venues across Europe with a number of renowned salsa choreographers, among whom Knzo and Leon Rose. Sandra's passion for salsa has since urged her to relocate all the way across the ocean to New York City, the birthplace of salsa. In only a few months, she has gained recognition in the local salsa scene and been invited to partake in an exciting new adventure - busy performance season is ahead of her with partner Innova Dance Company and Innova Dance Company.
